Do larger diameter aspheric lenses experience more significant angle of incidence (AOI) and deposition effects during coating, shifting their spectral performance?
This depends on the optical power of the lens. Aspheres with low optical power and aspheric departure can still achieve high diameters without experiencing these effects significantly. However, higher optical power aspheres may have steeper surfaces and high diameters result in high departures, and therefore greater AOI and deposition effects during coating.
